CHENGMARI

Chengmari is the single largest tea plantation in Asia. It is situated on the foothills of Bhutan with streams flowing through the plantation. The family-owned estate is over 100 years old and produces primarily CTC and green tea, alongside small batch production of orthodox and white tea.

Location

It is the single largest tea plantation in Asia. It is situated on the foothills of Bhutan and is blessed with two rivers, Diana and Carron, running on either side. The hilly topography and the presence of these water bodies allow the plantation to be 100% irrigated.

The plantation supports over 14,000 people and provides all the necessary facilities such as fooding, housing, schooling and medical. There are two hospitals on either end of the garden. There are both primary and high schools present in the plantation.
